Dip the tires in the Pacific Ocean, dip the tires in the Atlantic Ocean, pedal a whole lot in between. That's the more or less the extent of the plan, though the route has been eye-balled.
Despite the name of the blog, we intend to avoid the both the TransCanada Highway and TransCanada Trail where possible. We're avoiding the highway as it tends to be high-trafficked and multi-laned. We're avoiding the trail as the stability of its surface tends to vary a fair bit.
By "unsupported" we mean that we won't have a vehicle following us. We're carrying camping gear, spare parts and other essentials on our bicycles, while stopping along the way to stock up on water, food, and whatever else.
Hopefully there will be showers to be had periodically along the way.
We are definitely counting on the ongoing moral support of friends and family.
