Day 14 (July 16th)

Grassy Lake, AB to Saskatchewan Border

This is the second time this post has been... posted. The previous attempt was somehow lost in the interweb. Anywho, here goes:

"I love the smell of potatoes in the morning. They smell like... victory."

We we're up at 08:30 and hit the road at 09:30, bidding farewell to the potato storage facility, close to where we camped.

We rolled into Medicine Hat before too long, attended to some personal business and tried to track down some fuel for Ian's stove. Naphtha/camp fuel/Coleman fuel had proven more difficult to come by than anticipated, and we we're getting low. Canadian Tire came through in the end.

After the city, Tyler suffered two flats in quick succession and decided that the culprits were sharp thingies on the road and a very bald rear tire. From the depths of his panniers emerged a new tire, begging the question "What else does this fellow have buried in those darn bags?" The possibility of a secret stash of hidden candies and other treats crossed Ian's mind. An ambush was planned. Then nixed.

Soon enough we saw a sign saying "Saskatchewan, Naturally." After stopping for the mandatory photograph, we decided to camp on the spot as a storm was rolling in.
