A Quick Update (2)

Hello, hello!

I arrived in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario last night and am continuing East today.

The past few days hold a few good stories and a ton of incredible photos, but all that will have to wait for the next rainy day (which I'm told may be tomorrow).

Here's a sneak peak of what's to come for Days 31, 32, and 33:
A confrontation with a vehicle operator. While a certain cyclist rides through the hometown of Winnie the Pooh, an empty pop can is tossed at him from a moving vehicle, hitting him in the helmet. Does that cyclist (Ian, of course) come out on top?
A shredded rear tire. Over 250km from Sault Ste. Marie with no spare. Can duct-tape and a piece of roadside plastic repair the rip?
A ride through Lake Superior Provincial Park. Hills, trees, coastline. Could anywhere be more beautiful?

Check back soon to find out more!

Hi Ian
Sorry to loose you. I should have stayed in Marathon with you as I just got a chafed bum from rising in the rain. I was driven to reach White River as I heard of the train to Sudbury through the game preserve which was excellent. Manitoulin and Bruce Peninsula were excellent too. I keep thinking about roadside litter now but havent come up with anything apart from attaching it at source. It was a quantum leap when Maccas started using biodegradable packaging. This means that at least when the knuckle heads throw it out , that it rots. I cant believe how many little shops keep serving me up food in polystyrene. Cant wait to read your blog on the tyre and the coke can battle with the car. Have fun and take care. Cheers Dave
